Wardrobe Pieces Every Girl Should Be Investing In
There are certain things that should dwell in every girl’s wardrobe, from the classic LBD, to a sensible pair of shoes – every outfit tells a story and serves a purpose.
You might be tempted to shop for high fashion pieces, and whilst it’s fine to mix and match your fashion choices, remember that these quirky items do tend to go out of fashion quite quickly. There are certain items that are timeless, and that will serve you well through all manner of events, such as job interviews, dates, nights out, weddings, and everything in-between.
Here are eight items every girl should have in her wardrobe:
Little black dress, the famous LBD
Every girl needs a little black dress, one that makes her feel like a million dollars, even when she’s having a fat day. Classic and timeless, this will take you through nights out, dates, and impress many a potential suitor! Go for sophistication, rather than impossibly short, and you’ll wear it time and time again.
Tailored white shirt
When you find out about that deadly important job interview, the next thing that springs to mind will always be ‘what am I going to wear?’ Well, with a classic white, tailored shirt in your wardrobe you will have no worries. Pair it with a pencil skirt or trousers for a perfect combo.
I am of course talking about a pair of well-fitting, tailored and decent black trousers, not a pair that are rotting at the back and have gone threadbare! Invest in good quality and it will last you years. Black trousers are perfect for countless situations, and can be easily dressed up or down.
Mid-height black heels
I’m not talking about full on stilettos, but a pair of easy to walk in, mid-height heels will serve you for nights out, job interviews, funerals (sorry, had to mention it), and everything else you can imagine. Again, go for quality, and they will last.
Black trouser/skirt suit
Again, mix and match, flexible, great for job interviews or when you need to seriously power dress, you can knock some serious socks off with a well-cut suit.
A glam evening dress
Keep it flexible, again not quirky, and you can wear this glam evening dress time and time again when you need something that is seriously sophisticated. If you’re invited to a ball, big event, or something similar, then having a go-to glamourous dress which you feel comfortable in, and you know you look great, eliminates that dash to the shops to find something to wear.
When autumn and then winter sets in, nights out can be a minefield when you want to wear that strappy dress but you fear you’re going to end up turning blue from the cold! Having a dressy jacket you can throw on for such occasions , which goes with everything, means you can wear whatever you want, whatever the season.
It’s always worthwhile spending a little more on jeans, to make sure they’re good quality, they last, and that they fit well, without having to buy a new, cheap pair every few months, because they’re not lasting the tests of wear! A good pair of jeans will last you a long time, so it’s worth splashing out a little.
If your wardrobe doesn’t include any one of these, then maybe it’s time to go shopping!
